Our initiatives in South Africa
We are proud to be supporting several initiatives across different schools in the Cape Town area. Take a look at what we do:
SFA Scholarship: Shakeeni
We are very happy to support the continued education of two incredibly bright young South African women by covering their tuition and other education-related fees such as books and transport to/from school. Thanks to our donors' support, Shakeeni is currently able to further progress in her studies at Kraaifontein, Cape Town....

... and also Jessica has the opportunity to continue studying in
another high school in Cape Town. Both students had previously attended Simonsberg Primary - one of Stars for Africa's partner schools in South Africa, and were selected by an expert committee for this scholarship due to their great academic performance. At SFA, we believe that an investment in their education will have a lasting impact not just on them, but on their communities as well.

Warm meals for students in need at Simonsberg Primary
Since March of 2022 we are permanent partners of Simonsberg Primary School in Cape Town, where we sponsor the purchase of groceries needed for the school cafeteria. Up to 100 kids are provided with what is in many instances their only warm meal per day, as well as healthy fruits. This support can only be provided thanks to the generous support of our donors.
Jackets for the winter time at Buffelskloof Primary
Fourty-one kids at Buffelskloof Primary School finally received their long-awaited jackets from Stars for Africa, to keep them warm and dry during the cold season of the year. Thanks to your help and our motivated team in South Africa, we were able to make this possible.
An improved study-environment in Strand
As one of our first projects in South Africa, our team of volunteers supported a small school in Strand, Western Cape, to refurbish one of the classrooms. The old and dusty study-space was repainted and more than a dozen broken windows replaced, providing these kids and their fellow classmates with a secure and inviting place to study and prosper.
Warm meals for students in need at other schools
We are proud to have supported multiple food-runs also at other schools in the Cape Town area, including but not limited to Playway Primary. With these food-runs, we not only bring the students a hot meal, but often a special event, as seen here in the picture, where we provided a Christmas luncheon for the children at Buffelskloof Primary School.

We have just started! Our team in South Africa is growing, as is the number of partnerships in the country. With your donation, you can support both ongoing and future projects to provide more students in the Cape Town area with (better) access to education & improved study conditions.
